Notes on the artwork
All works are original. I draw from life. The human form is beautiful and challenging to draw. A charcoal line is expressive and shows meaning in a drawing. A simple line gives form on which the viewer can elaborate in their minds eye. Perfection of line without colour or detail has now lead me back to my roots and I endeavour to place images onto textured and coloured fabrics bringing a new element to the work.

Gouache

"
Gouache uses harder lines filtered out gradually by water to create a more detailed lifelike image."
Charcoal drawings

"Charcoal is the most repressive and dynamic on paper producing clear dramatic lines."

Inks

"Inks offer shade and contrast and unpredictable linear work when I create a form from the human figure."
Pastels

"Suspended images on coloured backgrounds emphasising play on light and shade to create shape and textures of the skin."
Textiles
"
Printing the images onto fabric enables you to touch and feel the artwork rather than 'just look from behind the glass'. I have used a range of different fabrics and experimented with textured, transparent and reflective properties of them all. Using material changes the overall sensation of the artwork. Once the image is silk screened, dried, them stretched and sealed onto the backing board its ready to be hung. Over time the fabric twists and turns and realigns itself to the new habitat, so changing the feel of the image again! Its a great medium to work in! I hope you like them! Watch the site for more updates in the next few weeks."
